JOB SUMMARY :
Utilizing independent judgment and negotiating skills, this position is responsible for purchasing and administration, at an optimum balance of cost, quality and delivery, of consumable, conversion, MRO, and general supplies/services necessary for the company’s production and operating requirements consistent with its business plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
EDUCATION : Bachelor of Science or a business degree.
EXPERIENCE : Minimum three (3) years purchasing experience. Steel or heavy industry preferred.
DRIVING: Required to have an active and valid driver’s license, or the ability to travel and commute as required, and comply with the Motor Vehicle Safety Program.
SKILLS NEEDED : Strong negotiating skills.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
Proficient computer skills.
